| The Toasted Frog© is located in a historic building at 124 N. 3rd St. in downtown Grand Forks, ND. The building was built in 1893 along the banks of the Red River. The corner building has been home to many businesses since it’s erection, including local markets, car dealerships, implement stores, and restaurants. In December of 2005, Grand Forks’ natives Shawn Clapp and Jon Holth acquired the space and began creation of The Toasted Frog ©, realizing a long time dream of theirs.
Shawn and Jon have over twenty-five years experience in the restaurant and lounge business, both beginning their careers in Grand Forks. Both worked at Sanders 1907 before moving to Fargo, ND to manage the lounge and restaurant of the newly renovated Hotel Donaldson in downtown Fargo. Shawn and Jon have always called Grand Forks home. They both have many family members in Grand Forks, and both attended school here through college. They are thrilled to create what they hope will be an asset to the community and a permanent fixture in Grand Forks for years to come. |
